Term One Week 4

We have new challenges all the time on various topics. Children are encouraged to learn about the topic and write out what they have to share with the class. We have a learning Journey coming up at the end of term, but please remember, every day is open day in 4S.

You have your spelling to do. We are on Unit 3.

The THRASS sound is "b" is for "bird". Write down 6 words that have it.

Write out your 4 times table.

Extension Maths:

1. Write 9.25pm in 24 hour time.
2. Find the sum of 3.3 and 9.2.
3. Which is greater, 9,009 or 90,090?
4. How many faces on a cylinder?
5. Write in figures, the number three hundred and fourteen.

Write this poem into your book and learn it please. Who wrote it?

maggie and milly and molly and may
went down to the beach (to play one day)

and maggie discovered a shell that sang
so sweetly she couldn't remember her troubles, and

milly befriended a stranded star
whose rays five languid fingers were;

and molly was chased by a horrible thing
which raced sideways while blowing bubbles:and

may came home with a smooth round stone
as small as a world and as large as alone.

For whatever we lose (like a you or a me)
it's always ourselves we find in the sea

- For an extra raffle ticket you can tell me what it means.

Term One Week 2

Welcome to your homework website. Homework is given out on Fridays and comes back in by the following Thursday.

We have already been working on challenges (at home) very successfully. Please name all hats and jumpers clearly. Oh, and lunch boxes thanks!

You have your spelling to do. We do the first page at school. Then we do the Home Study page at home. Look for the THRASS sound "b" is for bird and see if there are any words in the list that have it. Write them down. If there aren't any, just do 6 words with the "b" sound anyway. :)

1. Write 11.15pm in 24 hour time.
2. Find the sum of 4.3 and 6.4
3. Which is greater - 9,708 or 10,090?
4. How many faces on a cube.
5. Write in figures, the number two thousand and four
6. What are the Roman numerals for 67, 51 and 230?

Sonnet 18

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date.
